Preventing Scams Before They Happen: OKX Expands Its Collaboration with the Singapore Police Force

We recently shared how collaboration between OKX, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and international law enforcement agencies helped identify more than 720 potential scam victims and prevent over S$19 million in losses over the course of 2026.

Today, we're sharing a closer look into that partnership in action. As part of the Singapore Police Force’s ongoing series of anti-scam operations, OKX worked alongside the SPF’s Cyber Command and other digital payment token service providers between July and August to help identify more than 355 potential scam victims and prevent more than S$8.94 million in potential losses. Using advanced blockchain analysis and timely information sharing, the operation also extended beyond Singapore, with intelligence shared with the FBI and New South Wales Police helping identify 50 potential victims overseas.

The initiative builds on earlier joint operations in which OKX participated, including activity in April–May and June, as part of a sustained public-private effort to detect scam activity earlier and intervene before further funds are lost. In total, over the course of four joint operations between March and August 2026, the Singapore Police Force, in collaboration with leading digital asset platforms like OKX, has prevented more than S$19 million in potential losses. The operation demonstrates how modern financial crime is increasingly prevented - not just investigated - through close collaboration between law enforcement and responsible digital asset platforms.

Acting quickly to protect potential victims

Scams continue to evolve in both scale and sophistication, with criminal networks increasingly operating across borders and exploiting multiple financial channels. While cash remains the predominant vehicle for illicit activity globally, platforms like OKX have an important role to play in ensuring that cryptocurrency is not a safe haven for criminals and that illicit transactions are identified, investigated and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.

Responding effectively requires close cooperation between investigators and trusted industry partners across the world, with each team moving faster than is typical for traditional financial crimes. During the operation, the Singapore Police Force identified potential scam activity using blockchain intelligence and shared actionable requests with participating exchanges. OKX responded within 24 hours, providing investigators with the information needed to quickly identify affected accounts, protect potential victims and disrupt ongoing scam activity before additional losses occurred. Quick action on the parts of both Singapore law enforcement and OKX's investigation team can stop assets in their tracks, meaning that victims can often see light at the end of the tunnel. While every investigation is different, our objective remains the same: respond quickly, preserve evidence where appropriate and help law enforcement protect consumers from financial harm.

Building on a broader global effort

This latest operation forms part of OKX's broader commitment to supporting legitimate law enforcement investigations around the world. As outlined in Building Trust Through Action and Deepening Trust Through Partnership, protecting customers requires more than strong internal controls. It depends on trusted partnerships between regulators, law enforcement agencies, blockchain intelligence specialists and responsible exchanges.Over the past two years, OKX's Special Investigations and Intelligence (SII) team has supported investigations spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Africa, helping authorities identify illicit activity, trace stolen assets, freeze criminal proceeds and, increasingly, prevent scams before victims lose their money.Every successful operation reinforces the same principle: financial crime is a global problem that requires a coordinated international response.

Trust is built through action

Supporting legitimate law enforcement investigations is an important part of our responsibility as a global digital asset platform. Whether responding to urgent requests, sharing blockchain intelligence or investing in experienced investigators and compliance professionals, our focus remains on making the broader digital asset ecosystem safer for everyone. The Singapore Police Force's latest operation is another example of what effective public-private collaboration can achieve. By combining investigative expertise, blockchain intelligence and rapid operational cooperation, authorities were able to intervene before millions of dollars were lost to scams. Over the course of 2026, OKX has worked with the Singapore Police Force to trace and action more than S$7 million. As digital assets become an increasingly important part of the global financial system, partnerships like these will only become more important. We remain committed to working constructively with law enforcement agencies around the world to protect customers, disrupt criminal activity and help build a safer, more trusted digital asset ecosystem.
