OKX Is Consolidating USD and USDC Spot Order Books — Effective September 30, 2026

Published on Sep 8, 20263 min read

OKX is consolidating its USD and USDC spot order books into a single, unified book. By bringing both books together, you get deeper liquidity, tighter spreads, and better fills on the pairs you already trade.

Your trade-with options are unchanged. You can continue to fund orders with USD, USDC, USDG, or RLUSD. The USDT-USD pair is not affected by this change.

How Does This Impact You?

Your funds are not affected. Balances, deposits, and withdrawals will continue to work exactly as they do today.

If you have open orders or trading bots on USD pairs (including USDG, USDC, RLUSD), action is required. You must move them to the corresponding USDC pairs between September 23 and September 30, 2026, while both books run side by side.

To move them:

  1. Cancel your open USD orders and stop your USD trading bots.

  2. Re-create them on the corresponding USDC pairs.

This only needs to be done once. Any orders or bots you create on USDC pairs during this window will continue running after the migration with no further action required.

What Happens on September 30

On September 30, 2026, between 3:00 and 4:00 AM ET, the parallel window will close and the USD order books will be retired. At that time:

  • All remaining open orders on USD pairs will be cancelled.

  • All existing USD trading bots/auto trades will be cancelled. For Grid and Smart Portfolio bots, positions are also sold, while DCA, Recurring Buy, and TWAP/Iceberg bot positions are held post migration. This may result in trading fees, slippage, and a realized gain or loss.

We strongly encourage you to migrate your open USD orders and update your USD trading bots to USDC Pairs between September 23 and September 30, so you retain full control over your orders and positions.

API Impact

Requests that currently use a Crypto-USD instrument ID must use the corresponding Crypto-USDC instrument ID after the change goes live. If you currently trade a Crypto-USD instrument without specifying tradeQuoteCcy and want to continue trading with USD after migrating to the corresponding Crypto-USDC instrument, you must explicitly set tradeQuoteCcy to USD. More details can refer to API Changelog.

After the Migration

Your trading experience will remain largely the same:

  • Consolidated pairs will be quoted and displayed as Crypto-USD.

  • The Crypto-USD ticker, charts, and order entry screens are unchanged.

  • Anything you migrated to USDC during the transition week will keep running under its Crypto-USD name — no further action needed.

  • You can still fund orders with USD. Your USD will be automatically converted to USDC to access the consolidated order book's liquidity.
